What the SMK31 is

The SMK31 is the pepper spray that converts ballistic gel into foam, in MK-3 (50 ml) format and approved for civilian use.

It delivers the best of the SMK30 model (recommended for police), with a special valve that transforms its ballistic gel into foam.

What is the advantage of foam pepper spray?

• Developed from decades of supplying police with pepper sprays, as an answer to specific operational needs.
• In high-intensity situations it provides wider coverage than ballistic gel, which offers higher precision and range but covers less area.
• By converting gel into foam, it projects in a cone pattern and covers a wider area than other streams and sprays.
• Requires less precision, making control easier at short distances.
• Ideal use at around 3 meters.
• Suitable for indoor environments: no environmental contamination as it does not disperse its contents.
• No splash-back.

Formula, stopping power and SABRE guarantee

• Active formula: 10% OC and 1.33% major capsaicinoids.
• OC (Oleoresin capsicum): the base responsible for the burning sensation.
• Capsaicinoids: the active component in the hottest peppers.

Performance, safety and control

• Up to 13-14 one-second bursts.
• Includes UV marking dye allowing identification up to 60 minutes after use.
• Trigger includes a safety lock to prevent accidental discharge.
• Factory tested to avoid failures seen in other manufacturers.
• Reviewed in a medical laboratory to guarantee its effects on eyes, nose and breathing.
• Its use does not leave side effects on the subject.
• Does not pollute or damage the ozone layer.
• Shelf life: 5 years. As long as it contains product, it can be used as many times as needed during this period while remaining fully effective.

Legislation and use in Spain

In Spain, the Private Security Law and its Uniform Regulations do not establish defense spray, expandable baton or electric defense devices as standard regulated weapons. The Law does provide that security companies may request authorization from the General Directorate of Police for the use of additional weapons according to the special characteristics of the service to be provided.

Therefore, private security companies that consider it necessary to equip their personnel with additional weapons must request such authorization and attach it when placing the order so we can process it.

Security guards may purchase SABRE Red approved defense sprays for personal use, but they should not carry them while on duty unless they have authorization from their security company.
