NIJ IIIA Ballistic Visor for protective helmets, offering advanced protection and optimal visibility in high-risk situations. The VIS30 shield is a mandatory device for any user that wears a ballistic helmet like CSC11.
The VIS30 ballistic screen, with a multi-impact NIJ IIIA ballistic protection level according to 0.106.1, is designed to be compatible with virtually all ballistic helmets so it can be quickly attached and removed without the need for tools.
The VIS30 screen is made of polycarbonate and acrylic composite to achieve an excellent weight of only 1.13 kg, with approximate dimensions of 14.5 x 38 cm, and a thickness of 2.3 cm. This ensures user protection for the face without reducing their field of vision.
Design of the structure:
The VIS30 screen has been designed to offer the best protection-to-weight ratio without being uncomfortable when worn with a ballistic protection vest, while also allowing for comfortable use of long guns and intercommunication.
The polycarbonate screen is completely transparent and does not distort the user's vision.
It is molded with an internal curvature radius of 126mm, providing frontal and lateral protection.
The helmet attachment system is via an adjustable strap that fits the helmet's diameter.
Additionally, the system allows for easy interchange of ballistic screens.
The protective surface is 551cm2.
At the top, it incorporates a rubber strip that prevents liquids from entering the user's eyes directly.
Composition:
The screen is manufactured using a proprietary composite system of pressing polycarbonate and acrylic sheets until the thickness is sufficient for the ballistic threats it is designed for.
On its inner part, it is finished with an acrylic layer to prevent shrapnel generation in case of impact that could affect the user.
Ballistic performance:
The VIS30 screen has been designed to comply with NIJ 0106.01 standards, tested with projectiles as follows:
.44 Magnum SJHP with a 240-grain mass and a velocity of 436 m/s
9mm FMJ with a 124-grain mass and a velocity of 436 m/s
7.62 x 25mm Tokarev with steel-jacketed rounds at 465 m/s.
