VXR ammunition makes the difference. PepperBall manufactures frangible, fin-stabilised .68 calibre ammunition, achieving precision and range impossible to match with conventional spherical ammunition. When distance matters, when precision matters, when safety matters, when selectivity matters, when minimising collateral damage matters — there is no better ammunition than VXR.

Compared to conventional ammunition, VXR almost triples the range and precision. It is the only ammunition to hold ASTM certification for non-lethal or less-lethal police and military use. Each projectile is ultrasonically sealed, making it 100% submersible; it is manufactured from biodegradable plastics and is non-flammable.

Specific Function: Glass Breaking

When VXR ammunition strikes a window or pane of glass, it disintegrates and releases the ceramic micro-spheres contained within, capable of breaking glass and the security glazing used in vehicles. It is the perfect ammunition for situations where glass or a window must be broken prior to deploying PAVA projectiles, particularly when an aggressor takes cover behind a glass barrier at distance.

Stabilisation and Ballistic Performance

Thanks to its stabilised design, the operator can resolve situations from much greater distances and therefore with far greater safety. The VXR projectile travels faster, further and with much greater precision, designed to enable safe and effective shots in high-risk situations.

• VXR ammunition delivers optimal performance at muzzle velocities of between 380 and 385 fps (approx. 117 m/s), providing greater precision and shot stability.
• PepperBall VKS launchers are factory-supplied with a muzzle velocity of approximately 290–300 fps (± 90 m/s), calibrated for use with standard BGO spherical projectiles.
• To achieve maximum performance from VXR ammunition, use in VKS launcher rifles specifically configured to reach higher velocities is recommended, ensuring a more precise and effective trajectory within ASTM (police) standards at a distance of 45 metres.

Train Before Using Live Ammunition

To master handling of this ammunition before operational use, we recommend practising with the VXR PepperBall inert projectile cal. .68, which replicates the ballistic behaviour of the live ammunition without an active payload, allowing marksmanship and CQB tactics to be sharpened safely.
